We decided to put together a booklet to answer some frequently asked questions about Passover. The main contents of the digital booklet are captured below. This post includes a free download of this resource, which you can freely use and share with others. Blessed Passover!
Therefore cleanse out the old leaven, so that you are a new lump, as you are unleavened. For also Messiah our Pěsaḥ was slaughtered for us.
And they sang a renewed song, saying, “You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals, because You were slain, and have redeemed us to Alahym by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, and made us sovereigns and priests to our Alahym, and we shall reign upon the earth.”
— Rev 5:9
On the next day Yoḥanan (John) saw יהושע coming toward him, and said, “See, the Lamb of Alahym who takes away the sin of the world!”
— John 1:29
The Passover sacrifice points to the ultimate sacrifice of our Messiah, who is the true Passover Lamb!
WHAT IS PĚSAḤ?
And Mosheh called for all the elders of Yasharal and said to them, “Go out and take lambs for yourselves according to your clans, and slay the Pěsaḥ.
— Exodus 12:21“”
The Pěsaḥ (Passover) is the slaughter-offering of a perfect lamb, a year-old male, taken from the sheep or from the goats (Exo 12:5-6).
WHO CELEBRATES PĚSAḤ?
All the congregation of Yasharal are to perform it.
“And when a stranger sojourns with you and shall perform the Pěsaḥ to יהוה, let all his males be circumcised… There is one law…”
— Exodus 12:47-49
This celebration is for the Children of Yasharal, throughout our generations. Strangers who enter the covenant can participate. In the first new moon, on the fourteenth day of the new moon, between the evenings, is the Pěsaḥ to יהוה.
WHEN DO WE CELEBRATE PĚSAḤ?
Pěsaḥ (Passover) is celebrated on the 14 day of the first Scriptural Month that YAH calls “Abib,” according to Exodus 12:2.
- THE TRIUMPHAL ENTRY WAS ON SHABBAT
- THE RESURRECTION WAS ON SHABBAT
The observance of “Holy Thursday,” “Good Friday,” “Holy Saturday,” and “Easter Sunday” does not align with Scripture. He also resurrected on a weekly Sabbath.
The observance of “Palm Sunday” is not rooted in Scripture. The day called “Palm Sunday” was actually Abib 10 when lambs are selected and set aside for the Passover sacrifice. Messiah, the ultimate sacrifice, made a bold statement on this day! It fell on a weekly Sabbath in the year Messiah died.
MESSIAH’S TIMELINE: 3 DAYS & 3 NIGHTS
Messiah was slain. As the True Passover Lamb, he shed His blood and gave up His body for us!
WHY DO WE CELEBRATE PĚSAḤ?
It is because of what יהוה did for me when I came up from Mitsrayim… for with a strong hand יהוה has brought you out of Mitsrayim.
— Exodus 13:8-9
Pěsaḥ (Passover) is a memorial of our deliverance from physical and spiritual bondage by the mighty hand of YAHUAH, through the Lamb of YAH, who takes away the sins of the world!
HOW DO WE CELEBRATE PĚSAḤ?
And they shall eat the flesh on that night, roasted in fire – with unleavened bread and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.
— Exodus 12:8
The Pěsaḥ is a roasted in fire and eaten with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. It is eaten in haste. (Exo 12:8-11)
WHERE DO WE CELEBRATE PĚSAḤ?
…slaughter the Pěsaḥ to יהוה your Alahym, from the flock and the herd, in the place where יהוה chooses to put His Name.— Deuteronomy 16:2
The Children of Yasharal observed Pěsaḥ (Passover) in the wilderness as well as in the desert of Yericho, outside of Yasharal, and it will be celebrated in the new Kingdom. (Num 9:5, Jos 5:10, Matt 26:29
THE TRUE PASSOVER
“Worthy is the Lamb having been slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and respect and esteem and blessing!”
— Revelation 5:12
The celebration of the festival always pointed to the work that Messiah was destined to do to remove sin from our lives forever! No other offering could suffice! Only Messiah was worthy to take the Scroll from the Hand of YAH and to unseal it (Revelation 5)!
HAVE YOU ACCEPTED MESSIAH’S OFFER?
“See, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I shall come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me…
— Revelation 3:20
Messiah is calling you to the Marriage Supper of the Lamb:
And He said to me, “Write, ‘Blessed are those who have been called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’ ” And he said to me, “These are the true words of Alahym.”
— Revelation 19:9
