“For I proclaim the Name of יהוה, ascribe greatness to our Alahym." – Deu 32:3 (TS2009)

The Greatest Love of All: Messiah, Our True Passover

Therefore cleanse out the old leaven, so that you are a new lump, as you are unleavened. For also Messiah our Pěsaḥ (Passover) was slaughtered for us.

— 1 Corinthians 5:7

As we approach Passover 2025, we unveil this year’s Passover Guide. At this time of the year, we celebrate Passover as a time of reflection and spiritual renewal, as do many other believers around the world. In this season, we remember our deliverance from both physical and spiritual bondage, by the Father’s strong hand and outstretched arm!

Growing Up in the Christian Traditions

Passover - Placing the blood of the Passover Lamb on the doorposts in Egypt.
While still in Egypt (Mitsrayim), the Hebrews were commanded to slaughter the Passover Lamb and place the blood on their doorposts. This protected them from the final plague of death before the exodus from Egypt.

As a child, I used to celebrate Easter with my family. Each year around this time, we looked forward to this celebration. My mother, being Roman Catholic, took us to the Stations of the Cross. On the other hand, my dad, who was a Methodist Christian, did not approve. Dad warned us against following the people who paraded the cross with image of “Jesus,” which they adored and kissed during the Stations of the Cross. He cautioned us against following this tradition. Evidently, he saw this as a contravention of the commandments as set forth in Exodus 20: 4 and Exodus 20:5.

Fast-forward to my adult years–in 2006–when I began to receive of the awakening to the truth about YAH’s calendar: I began to seek for a better life than I was living. I learned that my Heavenly Father has a Name–יהוה – YAHUAH. I also learned that He has a clear pathway for us to live, which He exemplified in the life lived by our Messiah, יהושע – YAHUSHUA.

The Sabbath

I already knew about the Sabbath. I am a former member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. While a member of that church, I came to learn that my Heavenly Father has a Name. At that time, I knew Him as YAHWEH, but deeper study led me to learn of the Hebrew Roots of the Name and Scriptures. Additionally, I also learned that the celebrations we were keeping each year–the key ones being Christmas and Easter–are not Scriptural. I, furthermore, began to learn about the annual Sabbaths that we observe at the time of the festivals.

Learning about Passover and other Festivals

The Passover Meal
This Passover Meal consists of unleavened bread, bitter herbs, and roasted lamb. Freshly made grape juice is the beverage for this meal.

Father YAH began to teach me about His calendar and the SEVEN FESTIVALS that map out the plan of deliverance for His children. I learned that the first of this series of festivals is Passover. Father YAH established seven (7) festivals spanning the first to the seventh Scriptural months–each with its own prophetic meaning. The first festival corresponds with the death of Messiah and the last corresponds with His birth and circumcision. Incidentally, the first Scriptural month (which YAH calls Abib) also corresponds with the days when the earth became dry after the flood, in the days of Noach.

In the prophetic sense, these festivals map out the entire plan to set us free from sin–from the putting away of sin through the priceless blood shed by Messiah for our redemption to the final judgment of humanity and the restoration of YAH’s kingdom on earth! What a phenomenal plan!!! I certainly want to live and be aligned with this truth! So I no longer celebrate Christmas and Easter. Today, my children and I are grateful and blessed to be walking in the Light of Messiah and in His truth.

True Worship

Joh 4:23  “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father also does seek such to worship Him.
Joh 4:24  “Alahym is Spirit, and those who worship Him need to worship in spirit and truth.”
